Sunshine, smiles, and plenty of festival shenanigans! ☀️🎉

Despite early rain in the forecast, that legendary “Chamber weather” worked its magic as thousands lined Main Street this weekend for the 43rd Annual Aunt Het Festival in Fountain Inn!

From warm boiled peanuts and incredible bites from The Farehouse, to toe-tapping tunes by Reedy River String Band and creative pumpkins from the Fountain Inn Elementary PTA, the day was packed with the very best hometown charm.

As official media sponsors, our team at The Golden Strip News had a blast meeting so many of you at our booth! Thank you to everyone who stepped inside our giant “Hometown Star Makes Headlines” frame to snap a photo—including the Fountain Inn High School Fury mascot, local photographers, and Fountain Inn Police Chief Patrick Fortenberry! 📸📰

Big news for South Carolina educators and classrooms. 🍎📚

South Carolina is putting $10 million behind keeping great teachers where they belong—in front of our kids.

Through new programs administered by the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation (SCSLC) and funded through a state budget proviso authored by Upstate Rep. Neal Collins (R-Pickens), SC teachers now have direct financial relief aimed at retention and recruitment:

Lower Monthly Payments: South Carolina educators can now refinance existing student loans into much more favorable repayment terms.

Tackling the Teacher Shortage: A targeted push to recruit new talent into the profession while giving current, experienced teachers a meaningful financial reason to stay in the classroom.

Direct Support for Classrooms: Investing in educators' financial well-being directly strengthens public education and school stability statewide.

If you are an educator or know a teacher carrying student loan debt, be sure to pass this along.
