This has been a story that I’ve been so excited to get to share with you. 🤍 if you need hope today, this is for you.

Ezekiel stood in a valley covered with dry bones. Not wounded bodies. Not sleeping men. Bones. Very dry bones. It looked like the final page of a nation that had lost everything. Israel was in exile, Jerusalem had fallen, and hope seemed buried under dust.

Then God asked, “Son of man, can these bones live?” Ezekiel did not pretend to know. He answered, “O Lord God, you know.” So God told him to prophesy. As Ezekiel spoke, the bones began to rattle. Bone came to bone. Sinews formed. Flesh covered them. Skin returned. But they still had no breath.

Then God told him to prophesy to the breath. The wind came, breath entered them, and they stood as a great army. What looked dead was only waiting for God’s word and God’s breath.

Insight: God did not show Ezekiel a garden. He showed him a graveyard, because resurrection means more when hope is already gone. Lesser-known truth: this vision was first about Israel’s restoration from exile, but it also points to God’s power to bring life where humans see finality.

Hebrew: Ruach means breath, wind, or Spirit. Atzamot means bones. Chayah means to live. Tikvah means hope. The valley was not the end. It was the place where God proved dry bones can rise.

There are seasons that change you.

Seasons that leave you carrying more than you ever expected. Seasons that teach you what it means to trust God when the future feels uncertain. Seasons that reveal just how desperately your soul needs rest.

Haven was born from one of those seasons.

What began as my own journey toward healing and restoration became a vision for something bigger. A sacred space where women can step away from the noise, lay down what they’ve been carrying, and encounter God in a fresh way.

This September, women will gather in the beauty of the Black Hills for three nights of worship, prayer, meaningful connection, nourishing meals, wellness workshops, journaling, rest, and renewal.

This is more than a retreat.

It’s an invitation to breathe again.

To rest without guilt.

To receive instead of constantly pouring out.

To be reminded that God still meets us in the quiet places.
