𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Spirit confirmed most card-paying customers have been refunded. Southwest rescue fares run through Wednesday May 6. Frontier SAVENOW through May 10.

The bigger story: Spirit's absence will push fares up 23% on average across its routes. Anyone flying Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Las Vegas, Detroit, or Newark this summer will feel this — on any airline.

Spirit Airlines is preparing to cease operations today after a $500 million government rescue deal collapsed. As a luxury travel advisor, I'm sharing this for anyone with upcoming travel on Spirit.

✅ Book a backup flight on another carrier today
✅ If flights cancel: credit card chargeback is your fastest refund option (5-10 days)
✅ Check your travel insurance — many policies exclude airline insolvency
✅ Watch for rescue fares from Frontier and JetBlue
