We “rescued” two new hens for our flock. These two are Olive Eggers who lay green eggs. Unfortunately, up until now they’ve spent their entire lives in an encoded barn being over bred and forced to compete with thousands of other chickens.
They look rough! They’re missing feathers and they have some sores on their feet. But in the coming days I will give them some much needed TLC before they join our regular flock. They will live out the rest of their lives with access to a forest for them to forage and hunt their own bugs. A clean chicken coop with windows and ventilation. Organic chicken feed. And only ONE rooster to take care of them.
What should we name these two ladies?
