Special Story Time, Book Signing and Mini-Farmers Market @ Mrs. Figs’ Bookworm on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 12 pm – 1 pm with Karisa Lowe, author of Arlo Goes to Farmers Market.
This newest addition to the Arlo series, Arlo Goes to the Farmers Market, was released in January 2014. “Instead of tackling a new situation, like the first two Arlo books (Arlo Goes to the Dentist and Arlo and the Airplane), I wanted to take on another important issue: eating fruits and vegetables.” Lowe’s firm belief that healthy eating habits are most easily formed during childhood motivated her to write this book. “I was fortunate to have two parents who believed fruits and vegetables are the center of a healthy diet. I wasn’t given a choice about eating them as a kid, but now as an adult, I love them. Not enough kids these days love eating fruits and vegetables, so this is my attempt to help them get excited and even love it.” Arlo Goes to the Farmers Market won Honorable Mention in the Children’s Category in the 2014 Los Angeles Book Festival.
In addition to the Story Time and Book Signing, there will be fresh veggies & fruits for the children (free) and “Arlo Stuffed Animals” (available for purchase)!
