A few pics from a trip to Middle Palisade and Mt. Norman Clyde last summer. Crazy to see how much snow there still was in late July.

Sunrise over North Lake Tahoe and Incline Village, NV after one the great storms we received last Winter. This picture was created at the very popular lookout on Highway 431 that goes over Mt. Rose to Reno. Sometimes when I go up there at sunrise/sunset there may be 5-10 other photographers there; nothing like say, "tunnel view" in Yosemite or Zabriskie Point in Death Valley where any given day during high season there can be 20-50 other photographers but it's definitely not an isolated place. Regardless, I come back to these great places over and over again because they were established for a very good reason. Standing there watching the light and weather change in these great places is breathtaking and even though there may be a million pictures taken from this vantage point it's fun to try a new composition/angle and at least comforting to know that the weather is never the same and every time you go it's another chance for a once in a lifetime experience :)

Flashback to that one time I stood atop the highest point in North America with a close friend of mine. This image was taken at High Camp, elevation 17,000 feet above sea level and the day before we made it to the top at 20,300 feet. I still think back to memories of this trip weekly and the absolutely stunning views of nature we saw during our adventure.

Mount Whitney Trail crest at sunrise. Mt. Muir in the distance and Mt. Whitney not visible but lying directly behind the furthest peak. From here it is somewhat of a casual stroll along the ridge to reach Mt. Whitney summit. This location is directly after the famous "96 switchbacks" that wind back and forth up the steep headwall and final "hard part" of the Mount Whitney Trail, minus the altitude exposure and exhaustion :)
