Statement from Letty Way Films
Due to the severe weather, significant flooding, road closures, and State of Emergency impacting New Jersey and Long Beach Island, Letty Way Films has made the difficult decision to invoke the Force Majeure provision in agreement made regarding this weekends scheduled weddings.
This decision was not made lightly. Weddings carry an incredible amount of time, emotion, planning, and financial investment, and we understand how devastating the possibility of postponement can feel. However, no wedding day is worth risking the safety of the guests, vendors, and professionals being asked to travel through dangerous conditions to make it happen.
A wedding can be postponed. A celebration can be rescheduled. Plans can be rebuilt. But the safety and well-being of the people involved cannot be replaced.
As a professional wedding vendor, Letty Way Films has a responsibility to protect our team, our equipment, and ultimately our ability to safely serve every couple who has entrusted us with their wedding day. When local authorities report flooding, road closures, and advise against travel, those warnings must be taken seriously.
Invoking Force Majeure is not abandoning our responsibility to our clients. It exists specifically for extraordinary circumstances outside anyone’s reasonable control, when fulfilling an event as originally planned may no longer be safe or reasonably possible.
We sincerely hope that everyone traveling to and from today’s event remains safe. We understand that postponing a wedding is heartbreaking, but no photograph, film, timeline, or celebration is worth risking a life to create.
Please consider postponing for consideration of your family friends and vendors.
