The township is doing well in terms of getting its residents vaccinated, said Health Officer Candice Davenport, but Maplewood — and New Jersey in general — has to keep pressing to get COVID-19 vaccination shots into the arms of every eligible person.

Seeking able bodied high school senior teens or home from college kids. My MIL is physically needing some help moving heavy things into the garage in Summit. What sort of good deed rate can I pay your honest kid for doing honest work for a few hours a couple, days per week, over a couple weeks? If no kids, what about your neighbors kid or church/synagogue kids? My FIL just got put into a temp nursing care place so we are scrambling to find MAN help for MIL over a month or so. Or give me some FB groups in the area to join and post a more palatable version of my (her) request. Cheers,
Summer is coming at The Writers Circle. WordSMASH creative writing mini-camps are for kids K-7 (in-person at SOPAC and other nearby locations, plus virtual options) and our Summer Creative Writing Intensives are for teens who LOVE to WRITE - held at Drew University in Madison, NJ. We have writers coming to us from all around the country and the world!) Write with us this summer. Register at https://writerscircleworkshops.com/

Sometime between 8:00 and 8:02 PM, we will post a START OF GAME link to the game so make sure you continue to REFRESH your browser. The game is loosely based on our traditional Midnight Madness game except that there will NOT be any driving around; the entire game takes place in front of your computer, smart phone, or tablet. THE RULES: 1.) Once the link becomes available, click on the link to start the game. 2.) Open up an email and number it from 1 through 40. 3.) You will have 60 minutes to solve as many of the 40 clues that you can using your brain, skills, or wit and get your answers back to us. Each correct answer is worth one point. 4.) Upon solving the 40 clues, there is an end-of-game puzzle to solve which leads to a multi-word phrase worth three points. 5.). Make sure you include the answer to the end of game puzzle under your 40 clues answered. 6.) Once you are finished, please send an email to: [email protected] 7.) In the subject line of your email, you should put an MM followed by your team name. 8.) Make sure you email us with the same email address you used for registration so we can properly log your results and ranking. 9.) If you can’t solve all of the clues, still make sure to email your answers back to us as not every team may solve all of them. 10.) In the email, please also include your Last Name and Team Name so we can properly cross reference with our registration file. 11.) We will determine how many prizes we’ll be giving out based upon how many teams register. 12.) Finally, each entry must include a team selfie, preferable in protective masks. We recently had 360 teams play our first game a month ago, so do not give up, as you could still be in the running for prizes. Today I gave to the ACLU for all the critical legal work they are doing to protect the vulnerable, voting rights, access to abortion, and health. I also gave to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, who always have extreme needs and even more intensely with COVID-19 in the world.
To help cope with this difficult time being on lockdown due to the Coronavirus, we have created a FREE on-line / virtual game to play with your family which we are calling “Midnight Madness Events presents: QUARANTINE MADNESS.” The game will begin on Saturday, April 18th at 4:00 PM EDT. At 4:00 PM (New York Time Zone), please visit our page - https://www.facebook.com/midnightmadnessevents/ By 4:02 PM, we will post a link with all of the clues to start the game. There is NO COST to play this game loosely based on our traditional Midnight Madness games. You will NOT be driving around; the entire game takes place in front of your Computer, Smart Phone, or Tablet. The theme of the clues for this event will be Kids / Family Movies. Pre-Registration is not necessary. THE RULES: 1. Once the link is posted, click the link to open up your 25 clues. 2. You will have 60 minutes so solve as many clues as you can in the allotted time. 3. As you solve the clues, have blank email ready where you will list your answers from 1 thru 25. 4. You will receive 1 point for each correct answer. 5. Once you think you have all of the answers, please email them to: [email protected]. The subject line of the email should be "MM" followed by your Team Name. Please be as creative as you wish in coming up with your team name. 6. If you can’t solve all of the clues, please make sure you still email us all of your answers because not everyone may solve them all. 7. In the email to us, please include: a. The last name of your family. b. The first names of your family. c. Next to each child, let us know the age. d. Your town/city name, and state. e. One family selfie (so we can properly celebrate the winning teams). f. You will receive a 2 second bonus if someone in the picture is wearing a mask. 8. You can play as an all adult team if you wish. 9. You can also play as a group whether it be a camp bunk, a scout troop, a sports team, a dance team, a school class, etc... 10. If you are playing as group, in your email of answers, let us know what camp, troop, team, class you are representing. 11. If you play as a “team”, the selfie may not be easy so the picture taken can be just of the person submitting the team answers. 12. We will have different categories of winners: a. Overall winners b. Family winners c. “Team” winners d. State winners e. Town winners 13. We will review the emails in the order they are received as the receipt of emails with your answers have a time stamp which will allow us to determine the winners. The quicker you send your completed email, the better show you have of winning or placing. 14. Since this game may branch out into other time zones, we may not have the winners announced right away. 15. This game is not specific to a certain area. If you know a family or group that could be interested in playing, please feel free to tag or pass this information on as they could also be looking for a fun activity to do. 16. Some clues could be easier and some could be harder. Work with the younger kids to help guide them to the answers... We hope you have a blast, or at least an hour of pure madness… Sincerely, Game Masters Leigh & Jason Gourvitz and Ilisa & Kevin Harrison PS: We do have some events planned: - 6/14/20 - Midday Madness Westfield NJ Family On-Foot Event - 6/27/20 - Annual Scotch Plains / Fanwood / Westfield Adult Event. - TBA Fall 2020 - 11th Annul Livingston / West Orange Adult Event If you are interested in us coming to your town for our standard adult event, please reach out to us.
