Well, I'm still reeling from last week's Greyfox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill New York, but no rest for the Bluegrass Wicked, the Podunk Bluegrass Festival in Goshen Ct. is coming up quick! August 7th to the 10th the Goshen Fairgrounds will be transformed into a Bluegrass Mecca with 3 full days of music from the artists you see posted here, and more! The Dan Tyminski Band will be the Saturday night featured artist and a full weekend of top notch Bluegrass artists sure to please every Bluegrass taste! I'll be Master of Ceramonies in the evening performances after dinner break all 3 nights, and I'm looking forward to meeting up with all my Connecticut friends I've made over the past several years being part of this great All-Voluenteer endeavor! A shout out to Shanna Connor, Kim Teirney, Rich James and the whole Podunk staff who put in many hours of dedicated work to make this one of the best festivals in the state, if not New England! This week I'll be reviewing the artists that appeared on a variety of stages this year at the 2025 Greyfox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill, New York last weekend! I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be the Master of Ceremonies for all three evenings on the High Meadow Stage this year! I also was MC for the Catskill stage Wednesday night to open the festival! This year the weather was perfect, the crowds were enthusiastaic, the bands were off the charts great! The Thursday night Della Mae was one of the best performances ever on the Catskill stage, with many special guests like Woody Platt & Tray Wellington, Darren Nicholson and more , and they brought the house down! Lindsay Lou Thursday included her partner Kyle Tuttle on banjo on a few tunes, he had to go back stage to hold their 8 week old baby! Met so many legends in Bluegrass like the great Alice Gerrard who with Della Mae and Laurie Lewis performed the Hazel Dickens @ 100 tribute , Henhouse Prowlers followed and the evening ended with the Steep Canyon Rangers! Friday and Saturday nights were just as amazing with the Del McCoury Band, I'm with Her, JigJam Closing Friday night, and Sierra Hull, Sam Bush and the California Honeydrops ended the weekend in a soulful set not soon to be forgotten! Thanks to Mary Burdette, Mary Doub (I got to sit on the couch with her a lot!) my good friend Greg McConnell for all his help with setting up camp, and his moral support! And all the incredible voulenteers from the trash crew to the kitchen workers that provide great meals for the staff and performers, to all who make Greyfox one of the best Bluegrass Festivals East of the Mississippi! I'm so proud to be part of this festival! Next week we prepare for our next Summer festival in Goshen, CT for the Podunk Bluegrass Festival August 7-10! With Headliners like the Po' Ramblin' Boys, Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley and the Dan Tyminski Band! Not sure of my schedule yet, but it's going to be a blast! It was a pleasure meeting many of you for the first time, and seeing all of my old friends who cheered me on! I'm eternially grateful! Pictured here are all of the acts I'll be introducing as Master of Ceremonies on the High Meadow Night stage Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights from 7 to Midnight! I'll also be at the Catskill Dance Stage on Wednesday night introducing Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys from 9:15 to 10:15 PM, and Mark Gamsjager & the Lustre Kings from 10:30 to Midnight! A great way to get the festival rolling on a fun-filled evening of music! The Music gets underway with Dry Branch Fire Squad (Host Band) starting @ Noon on Thursday, (High Meadow Day Stage) and ending with the high energy California Honeydrops on Saturday night from 10:45 to 12:15 AM!!! So I hope to see many of you at Greyfox, if you see me wandering about, please say hello! I want to thank Mary Burdett the General Manager of GF for this great opportunity to host one of the Premier Bluegrass Festivals in the Country! When I was 22 years old, I attended my first Bluegrass Festival (the Berkshire Mountain Bluegrass Festival) in 1976! It was an experience that changed my life forever! I attended most of those years, then Winterhawk for 19 years, then Greyfox since 2000! Now 49 years later, I have come full circle! I'm truly humbled! Thanks for all the positive support I've been recieving from friends, family and listeners! Can't wait to greet you all!!!! And Remember: Bluegrass Rules!!!

Then Chicago's Henhouse Prowlers take the stage, Known as the "Bluegrass Ambassadors" bringing thier International style of Bluegrass to the world! Then to Finish off Thursday night, The Steep Canyon Rangers! Friday night brings the Amazing Del McCoury Band from 7:15 to 8:30, the incomperable I'm With Her brings the Vocal Harmonies of Aoife O'Donovan, Sarah Jaroz and Sara Watkins to the GF faithful, then the "Boys of Offalay" JigJam bring thier Irish Invasion Bluegrass to close Friday night! Saturday night Brings out the Heavyweights! Sierra Hull and her Band will amaze the crowd from 7:15 to 8:45, Then make way for the the King of Telluride Sam Bush and the band that will bring the house down with his always high energy show! Then to close Saturday night, The California Honeydrops! , from the subway systems of Oakland CA, to the High Meadow Stage, this high energy Retro-Soul Band will be a dancers dream! I'll also be at the Catskill Dance Stage Wednesdy the 16th to introduce Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys from 9:15 to 10:15, and then Mark Gamsjajer * the Lustre Kings form 10:30 to Midnight! This week I'm combining a REVIEW of the 24th Jennybrook Bluegrass Festival in Tunbridge, Vt. and a PREVIEW of the Greyfox Bluegrass Festival happening in Oak Hill, NY July 16th through the 20th. Jennybrook was a feast to the ears from a Barn Dance featuring the Malpass Brothers on Wednesday night, to the Queen of Bluegrass Rhonda Vincent on Sunday afternoon, and so much more in between! Despite Doom & Gloom forcasts earlier in the week, the weekend weather was PERFECT! And we'll be looking forward to the amazing lineup @ Greyfox this year featuring 6 stages, Jamming, food, Kids stuff and MORE! I was asked by Mary Burdette the Executive Director at GF if I would want to be the Emcee on the High Meadow Night Stage all 3 nights this year! After landing back to earth I immediately said YES! It's a great honor and I am humbled for the privilage to host one of the most fabled Bluegrass Festivals in the country!
