Happy 19th Birthday, JD. ❤️
There was a time when I thought our story was being written toward an ending.
A horse who carried me through countless miles, adventures, lessons, tears, victories, and seasons of life suddenly found himself fighting battles neither of us asked for. There were days filled with uncertainty. Days when experts told me what his future should look like. Days when the odds felt stacked against him.
But JD has never been interested in other people’s expectations.
He has spent his entire life teaching me about resilience.
When his body changed, he adapted.
When his job changed, he adapted.
When the future looked different than either of us planned, he adapted.
Today, he no longer carries me down the trail. Instead, he carries something even bigger.
He stands as a reminder that a horse’s value is not measured by what they can do for us. It’s measured by who they are.
JD went from patient to teacher. From riding horse to ambassador. From a horse many would have counted out to a horse helping educate owners and professionals alike.
Not every horse gets to reinvent themselves.
Not every horse gets a second chapter.
JD did.
And somehow, this chapter may be one of the most important yet.
Happy 19th birthday to the horse that changed my life, challenged my beliefs, taught me persistence, and continues to prove that purpose doesn’t end just because a job does.
You’ll always be my heart horse.
❤️ JD ❤️
