For my non crafty job I work for an amazing small nonprofit. We are such a close knit community for families and parents with children with developmental disabilities. Every year we have a big fun celebration of all the things we have accomplished that year and look forward to what we will be continuing to do in the community. Come join us July 25th!! Some days are for finishing, and some days are just for starting. 🎨☕

As a small business owner living with an autoimmune disease, my to-do list looks a little different every day. I’ve learned that I can’t always push through—sometimes I have to pivot based on what my body is telling me.

On high-energy days, I’m tackling shop orders and complex layouts. But on days like this week, where things feel a bit heavier, I focus on "low-pressure" creativity. These backgrounds were started with no plan other than to see where the color went. They might not be finished yet, but whether they get finished today or next month doesn’t change my love for creating or make me less of a crafter. When I save my energy for when it matters, I can fill my cup and not take away from it.

How do you decide what to tackle first when your energy doesn't match your to-do list? I’d love to hear your tips for finding that balance! 👇

Can we talk about backgrounds for a minute? 😍

I started this page by playing with Distress Sprays, 49 and Market/Ranger Reinkers, and water with absolutely no plan other than creating something that felt soft and watercolor-y. The purple and green blooms that formed reminded me so much of a garden that I knew I had to pair it with these flower photos.
Honestly, creating the background might have been my favorite part of this whole layout. There is something so relaxing about letting the water move the color around and seeing what happens.

Growing up with autoimmune disorders makes life interesting!! I am incredibly grateful for all those that donate plasma and blood for the times I’ve needed it. I use to be able to do SubQ immune gamma globulin at home, but as life has thrown a twist- I’m getting it done at an infusion center. So weekly I go in and get this life saving treatment for CVID. Not only does it help my body do what it should - like fight illnesses it also has help immensely so far with giving me more energy to get life’s to do lists done. I like to spend my time stuck in the center doing boring tasks on my iPad or phone. Today it’s organizing my Google Drive folders better.

Starting the process of documenting our wedding memories has honestly felt a little overwhelming at times 💍✨

There’s this pressure to make every page perfect because these photos and memories mean so much… but for this spread, I really wanted to let go of some of that pressure and simply focus on creating.

Using my softer style of mixed media, simple white Posca hearts, layered papers, textures, and meaningful details helped make this project feel more manageable and enjoyable instead of intimidating. Sometimes memory keeping isn’t about perfection — it’s about finally giving those memories a home.

One thing that has helped so much is partnering with Megan for this Wedding Series. Having someone to encourage, inspire, and create alongside makes tackling a big project like a wedding album feel so much less overwhelming 🩷
