We got a chance to ask Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon a few questions before the Forte Awards Gala this Thursday...
Me: Frank, what do you remember about playing Reno with your band before you became world famous?
Frank: "I was the youngest member at 16 years old and our band was a cover band called City Kidd. This was 1982 / 1983 and the era of music at that time was a lot of fun. Our goal as a band was to get people dancing on the floor. Being a teenager and coming to the bright lights and action of Reno's Grand Ballroom felt like hitting the "big time". The other thing that was different were the hours..sometimes playing 4 sets until until 3 AM!!

I hope you'll be able to join us on Thursday, November 2nd at the Grand Theatre in the Grand Sierra Casino for a very unique evening...the Forte' Awards! Doors open at 6 pm and the Grand Gala begins at 7 pm.
This is the gala Academy Awards/Grammys/Tonys style show for all of Northern Nevada with an amazing evening of Magic, Music, Comedy, Dance and Theater. All ticket sale proceeds go to the Humane Society, Food Bank and Veterans Resource Centers of America.
Tickets are $10 and $20 and the best way to purchase tickets is directly at the Grand Sierra Box Office.

More than 60% of the tickets have been sold or reserved for nominees and special guests. Grand Sierra Resort is reporting a lot of walk ups as of 10/06/17.
TICKETS for the awards ceremony scheduled for November 2nd at the Grand Sierra Resort are on sale now! For the best price walk into the Grand Sierra Resort and buy them at the Box Office right outside of the Grand Theatre. On line purchases will be funneled through Ticketmaster, so their fees will be added to the price. Ticket prices at the box office are $10 and $20 each. Get the cool swag when you get them via our INDIEGOGO campaign! (See more information on this below.) You can also buy via our website when you vote.
Remember, this campaign has two objectives. On the one hand is the recognition of our local area performing artists, and on the other is raising funds for our three charities. Those funds are raised through ticket sales and our INDIEGOGO Campaign. The INDIEGOGO Campaign is a Forte' Awards fundraiser where all the proceeds go to the effort to pay for the event and benefit the charities. Check it out and see if it works for you.
