Patching bad underlay.

I’m seeing more and more defects in this kind of premium future foam carpet cushion. Does anyone know why some rolls thin out like crazy?? The difference between two sections is like 8lb and 6lb pad. What a disappointment!

The part every carpet installer knows they should do, but skip anyway! I wonder how many of you actually take the time to install tack strip on the sides, and then stretch them sideways afterwards? It makes all the difference. 👍🏼

The tack strips were begging me to go easy on them on this one. 😂 I literally had to reinforce some of the strips while I was in the middle of stretching. Not gonna lie, I don’t like acoustical concrete.

Quick carpet tile job in a 100 year old house! Original Douglas fir hardwood was in rough shape so I added 5mm plywood underlayment before skimming. What was supposed to be a quick half day job turned into a full day! Clients chose the Ashlar lay pattern. You can’t even tell it’s carpet tile. 😏
