Is this OK?

Is this height OK? 85 inch TV, sitting 3 metres back. The bottom of the screen is 75cm from the ground and the middle is maybe 130cm.

I look into the bottom third, when watching content I need to look up with my eyes but don't have to turn my head upwards. Seems ok with his size screen as it's so big?

This is the height the TV mount installer put it at. Initially I thought it was a bit high then it seemed ok so I decided I would try it for a few weeks and see if I would need to get him back to adjust.

What's your thoughts?

Thanks

Is my TV too high?

I love where it’s at, I think it’s great, but after seeing a few from this subreddit I feel like it might fall into that category to most people maybe?

I’m going to mount my TV too high

I don’t really know any alternatives. We are building a house that will have a Mendota linear fireplace. We’re putting a 75” Frame TV from Samsung above it.

There will be a gap between the linear fireplace and the floor and there will be a gap between the linear fireplace and the bottom of the TV.

There is really nowhere else in the room to have the TV. The picture below is not of our house (our fireplace is the same brand but wider than that by maybe 30%), just one I snagged off the internet but imagine a 75” TV above that. It would be somewhat similar to what we are doing.

Any practical changes I should consider? The Mendota fireplace is a sure thing and will not be removed from the plans.

TV placement in a challenging space… thoughts?

I finally got my living room to a place where I’m ready to add a TV. Only problem is where…

Above the fireplace seems like the only option with a mount that swivels/lowers but I feel like there has to be another option. Does anyone have any ideas?

I can Fix That

Wife insisted the TV go above the fireplace, so l did the only logical thing.. I tore it down, created a wood frame for mounting, and drywalled it up. You don't have to choose above or beside the fireplace if there isn't a fireplace to plan around.

Too high? 😳I heard a lot about fireplace involvement in this sub so..?

Please help me convince my husband it's too high.
My husband and I just bought our first house together. We love everything about the house, except for the living room. It was built in 1930, and is kind of famous in our small town because it was moved to build the new police station. The entite town shut down and helped with the move. The issue is, this is the only place in the living room that we can put tv really. The room is long, but narrow has 4 entrances into it, two of them being double wide.

Fireplace is not real anymore, just an insert, but there did used to be a real one there, this is probably covering up the original hole. Previous owners installed very sturdy mounts into the original chimney, so it not going anywhere. The ceilings are 10 feet, so this thing is really up there.

We do watch the TV sometimes from the dining room, which we wouldn't be able to do so if it was lower. However I hate it so much. The cable managment especially because the outlets are low down on the wall and we have multiple consoles.

My husband says solution is to get bigger tv. From 65" to 85" I think it will look even more ridiculous and still have the same issue. I'm seriously thinking about tearing out this mantle and getting a real tv stand and lowering it. Everyone in my family says I'm crazy for wanting to change it, it looks great, don't mess with it, etc.

Is it wild to make this big of a drastic change in order to the lower the tv?

TL;DR can't move the tv elsewhere, I want to get rid of fake fireplace and put tv there instead.

My husband and I are divorcing, so he’s decorating on his own…

Instead of placing the tv above the fireplace, he’s going for a more ‘IN the fireplace’ solution 😂
