🌟 I proudly nominated Blunt for a Juneteenth Pillar Award! 🌟
When I first met Yodhunda, I was working as a doula with the Shades of Motherhood Network. From day one, she was one of the kindest, sweetest, most caring, and compassionate people I had ever met.
But what truly sets her apart is that her love for this community isn’t just something she talks about—it’s something she invests in.
Yodhunda has dedicated countless hours to Spokane through her free community Zumba classes at the Northeast Community Center, creating a space where people can move, connect, and heal together.
And if that wasn’t enough, she personally organized and paid for a community event at Mission Park that brought hundreds of people together. She fed approximately 500 community members, created a day of joy, connection, and celebration, and asked for nothing in return.
Not because she had to.
Not because she was getting paid.
Because she genuinely cares about people.
Because she genuinely cares about Spokane.
Too often, the people doing the real work behind the scenes don’t get the recognition they deserve. They quietly show up, serve others, and pour into the community without expecting applause.
Today, I want to make sure Yodhunda Blunt gets her flowers. 🌹
Thank you for feeding us.
Thank you for bringing us together.
Thank you for reminding us what community looks like.
Spokane is better because of you. ❤️🖤💚
