State budget negotiations have blown up. Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) and Speaker Don Scott (D) insist on keeping data center tax breaks while State Senators want data centers to pay up.

Virginia Democratic Senate President Louise Lucas coined new nicknames for Spanberger (data center diva) and Scott (Amazon Don).

“Just when I thought Chairman Torian and I were getting close to agreeing on a budget, we had a meeting with Data Center Diva this morning and she agrees with Amazon Don who doesn’t want to impact the richest corporations in the country,” said Lucas.

🚨New: Thousands of Virginia homeowners are fighting Dominion Energy’s Valley Link project that would build the most powerful transmission line in the commonwealth. Dominion Energy recently released a new route.

“No matter which route they take, it's through our property,” said Orange County resident Rebekah Henson. “To Dominion: Go away, you are taking away our home, our peace, our wonderful view. We don't want that.”

The 115 mile long 765-kilovolt electric transmission line would impact up to nine counties to power data centers in northern Virginia.

The line would end in Culpeper County at a proposed 88 acre substation where more lines are expected to branch out to reach other Northern Virginia counties.

This week, the Culpeper Board of Supervisors sent a letter to PJM urging the power grid operator not to approve the substation.

Dominion Energy told me they are only considering Culpeper County for the transmission line despite county opposition.

Several residents told me it’s unfair their homes and community might be impacted because data centers hours away need more electricity.

The U.S. House Judiciary Committee is blasting Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano for being unclear and evasive in his answers regarding his illegal immigration policies.

The House Judiciary Committee is investigating several so-called sanctuary jurisdictions like Fairfax County.

Congressman Jim Jordan also recently sent letters to Arlington, Virginia officials including Commonwealth’s Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti.

Rep. Jordan said Dehghani-Tafti, like Descano, seems to give preferential treatment towards illegal immigrant defendants. His letter provides examples.

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors have allowed 200+ data centers to be built in the county and 100 more are on the way.
