There is an active shooter between Virgin and Zion.

Multiple vehicles/people shot.

Avoid the area.
For those already there, shelter in place. ❤

Often, it is the candid, behind the scenes moments that offer the best story.

While shooting a race event, over the weekend, I had the opportunity to witness some amazing sights.

This event, was a grueling race, over the course of 25.5 hours. Participants had to complete 6 miles in under 90 minutes to move onto the next lap. This continued until each participant dropped out, or, completed 17 laps (102 miles).

The event started with 91 participants. It ended with 7 of those making it to the end. The previous record was 2 finishing.

There were many stories. One of which is incredible and I may share more about that with another post.

However, with all the photos I took of the event, this one touched me more than any other. This was the first night of the event. This runner is the one that ended up winning the competition, by finishing the race first. His third year straight as the 1st place finisher.

However, it was this moment, with his grandchild, in between laps, that demonstrates the true win.

Mixing business with pleasure.

Had the opportunity to catch some tasty tunes, dished up by Josh Larsen, while enjoying delicious food, and thirst quenching suds at Hive 435 in St. George, UT.

The Desert Pulse LIVE Music Tour is back! 🎶

The Arts to Zion Art and Studio Tour is pleased to once again bring The Desert Pulse LIVE Music Tour to the 2021 event. The 10th annual Arts to Zion Arts to Zion Tour will showcase broad talent of musical artists throughout the event at multiple tour stops. The five-day event runs from July 1-5 with many studio and gallery locations throughout Washington County.

Beginning in 2012, the Arts to Zion Studio Tour has become a favorite annual event bringing art lovers from across the region to southern Utah. Attendees are able to get out and see amazing art available, along with opportunities to watch the process of artists creating their pieces. In addition, live music has been included throughout the years.

However, this year, the Arts to Zion Art and Studio Tour is incorporating live music as a much bigger part of the Tour, increasing the ability to explore the arts in southern Utah. The Desert Pulse LIVE Music Tour allows for participants to enjoy the art of music by showcasing live music throughout several locations along the tour.

Designed to provide a broader arts experience, The Desert Pulse LIVE Music Tour includes music on July 3, 4, and 5 with a concentrated focus on Saturday, July 3.

The Desert Pulse LIVE Music Tour will showcase live music in the St. George area tour stops from 10 am until 7:30 pm on July 3. On July 4, live music will play in Kayenta and Springdale from 11 am to 3 pm. And, on July 5, live music will play at the Silver Reef Cosmopolitan located in Leeds from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

Enhancing the Arts to Zion Art and Studio Tour with The Desert Pulse LIVE Music Tour will enable the event to provide a much broader artistic experience for those who attend. It allows for including those that are visually impaired to participate and enjoy the tour. And the music tour provides an opportunity to enjoy a full day of live music.

Bringing the two tours together offers an incredible opportunity to increase the interest in visual art among music lovers, while also enhancing the experience for visual art fans all while showcasing the many talented musical artists that will be performing.
