Not all “healthy” habits are healthy for teeth. 👀🍋
This 16-year-old had naturally weak enamel, braces, and a daily lemon-water habit. She had seen online that mixing baking soda with lemon juice would “cancel out” the acid.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work like that in the mouth.
Because she was sipping it throughout the school day, her teeth were under frequent acid exposure with very little recovery time.
The result? Significant gingivitis, visible enamel damage, and severe acid stress on already vulnerable enamel.
This is your reminder that:
✨ frequency matters
✨ sipping matters
✨ vulnerable enamel matters
You don’t have to fear food — just understand what repeated acid exposure can do over time. 🦷💙
SAVE this for the next time someone tells you lemon water is automatically “good for you” — and send it to a parent with a Stanley cup full of citrus water. 👀🍋
