I received a letter from former senator Jim DeMint yesterday promoting a new multi-million dollar conservative center to be built in Washington DC. He says in his letter “Why doesn’t the conservative movement work well together? Seemingly, the progressive left is always united and working together and coordinating for maximum effectiveness…but the conservative movement is often disorganized and ineffective.” The greatest challenge for conservative thinkers is to overcome fragmentation. We must figure out how to work in a unified way even if we have different opinions. DeMint thinks a physical central planning center is vital. I think a virtual central action web site serves a similar purpose. keyloz.com

Citizen Portal on KeyLOZ.com links to an external site that has a specialize mission to connect every citizen with organizations in their community and beyond. Create a free account specifying your address and Citizen Portal displays links to video streams of influential entities in your area. These include public forums, city councils, library boards, school boards, and county commissions. It’s impossible to physically attend every meeting, but you can watch video feeds from any of them from the comfort of home. Citizen Portal also segments videos according to each topic discussed at the meeting and provides a transcript for those who prefer reading or want to copy/paste quotes from the meeting. Citizen Portal is an invaluable research tool to learn what’s happening locally.
