“Labor Day weekend is a time to remember the importance of work and family in our nation's life. And on this Labor Day, we Americans have much to remember and to give thanks for.” – Ronald Reagan, 1988

A different kind of “Taylor Post” today:

We can only hope and pray that marriage and starting a family will change her mind and heart.

NEVER FORGET

Four years ago, thirteen American service members gave their lives during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We owe it to them and every warrior who wears the uniform to ensure that something like this never happens again.

We had a great time at the Lamar Parade and Fair over the weekend! The weather was perfect and the conversations with community members and fair food was top notch! The burgers from the Liberal Booster Club came highly recommended and the frozen lemonade was a fan favorite with the kids! 👏

Above all … THANK YOU to all those that came out to help! This campaign is built on grit, energy, hard work and a passion for a better Missouri AND WE WON’T STOP!!💪

Today I am celebrating the greatest country in the world by officially announcing my run for State Senate District 20 -- because you deserve an ACTUAL conservative fighter in the State Senate!

Thank you to EVERY patriot that came out today to join me in this effort at the Marshfield Fourth of July Parade! This is just the beginning! 🇺🇸

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

But before the barbecues fire up, the fireworks light the sky, and the long weekend begins—let’s take a moment to remember what this holiday is truly about.

It’s the anniversary of one of the BOLDEST ideas ever attempted: that a FREE people could govern themselves. That our RIGHTS come not from kings or government, but from God—and that 'we the people' give power to government, NOT the other way around.

This was not just established as a holiday to celebrate the overthrow of tyranny, but also a holiday to celebrate the fact that we set up a limited form of government.

In his 1981 Commencement Address at Notre Dame, President Ronald Reagan said it best:

“This Nation was born when a band of men, the Founding Fathers, a group so unique we've never seen their like since, rose to such selfless heights. Lawyers, tradesmen, merchants, farmers – fifty-six men achieved security and standing in life but valued freedom more. They pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. Sixteen of them gave their lives. Most gave their fortunes. All preserved their sacred honor.”

“They gave us more than a nation. They brought to all mankind for the first time the concept that man was born free, that each of us has inalienable rights, ours by the grace of God, and that government was created by us for our convenience, having only the powers that we choose to give it.”

“We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around. This is the heritage that you're about to claim… not just a place to live, but a way to live.”

Have a safe and relaxing Fourth of July!

Here’s to our freedom, resilience, the brave men and women who have fought and continue to fight and the American story 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

…….. a Tax Credit is still Tax Credit no matter the spin

According to the Missouri Supreme Crt. in Curchin v. Missouri Industrial Development Board (1987):

"a tax credit is as much a grant of public money or property and is as much a drain on the State's coffers as would be an outright payment by the State."

This is a great play by play of what went down with the property tax portion of SB3 yesterday (the Sports Stadium Bill).

What started out as a much needed break for Jackson County spread to other districts when their Senators jumped in. It’s unfortuante the two Senators from my county of Greene didn’t go to bat for us on the property tax issue - despite a severability clause.

It’s June… a month now dedicated to honoring our Veterans 🇺🇸 🦅

Long overdue, June 2025 marks a significant shift in how America honors Veterans. For the first time, June has been declared "Veterans Month," a nationwide initiative to recognize and appreciate the sacrifices of our service members. This declaration comes amid a series of events and proclamations aimed at highlighting the importance of Veterans in our society.

Happy Veterans Month to ALL who served! Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Today we remember and honor the brave Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

As President Reagan once said, “If words cannot repay the debt we owe these men, surely with our actions we must strive to keep faith with them and with the vision that led them to battle and to final sacrifice."
