Coronavirus bill boosts unemployment benefits, covers gig workers

Partial Info on Stimulus Aid Package
See highlights below and click article for more info:

Unemployed workers who wouldn’t typically qualify for state benefits would receive 50% of their state’s average benefits plus $600 a week....

This category includes self-employed workers (such as those in the gig economy), those seeking part-time work, workers who quit their job or can’t reach their place of work as a result of COVID-19, or don’t have sufficient work history to otherwise qualify for benefits.

It’s conceivable that, under the legislative proposal, unemployment could ultimately pay some individuals more money than their previous paycheck, experts said.

New coronavirus relief legislation would greatly expand benefits for unemployed workers, and extend payments to previously ineligible groups like gig workers.

Our Story

The Savvy Saver Magazine was established in Eugene, OR with its first issue released November 2008. We renamed the magazine “Hometown Savvy” in the summer of 2015 to reflect the content change occurring from that of just a shopper style magazine to one that blends our traditional roots with a community resource guide.

We now publish the magazine and it’s online content by our design company, Savvy Media Co. (find information at www.savvymediaco.com). Offering design services, website builds, logo’s, business cards, postcards and the Hometown Savvy direct mail magazine, Savvy Media Co services businesses across the entire United States.
