What if the biggest thing you’re missing about God is just how good He really is?

So many people see Him as distant, demanding, or hard to please.

But the more I’ve walked with Him, the more I’ve discovered something completely different.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from walking with God is that He is not looking for ways to withhold from His children.

He’s looking for ways to help them.

Jesus said:

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask Him?”

(Matthew 7:11)

God is a good Father.

Not sometimes.

Always.

He is faithful.

He is kind.

He is generous.

He is a Provider.

And I’ve found that many times God doesn’t just meet our needs.

He exceeds them.

Not because we’ve earned it.

Not because we’re perfect.

But because that’s who He is.

The more I walk with God, the more I realize that His goodness is far greater than I once believed.

His provision is greater.

His wisdom is greater.

His love is greater.

His faithfulness is greater.

And if you’re walking through a difficult season right now...

I want to encourage you.

Keep trusting Him.

Keep seeking Him.

Keep putting Him first.

Your circumstances may be telling a different story.

But God’s faithfulness is greater.

The same God who has carried us through difficult seasons is able to carry you too.

The same God who has provided for us can provide for you.

The same God who has been faithful to us will be faithful to you.

God has not forgotten you.

He sees you.

He loves you.

And He is still good.

Even when the answer hasn’t shown up yet.

Even while you’re still believing.

Even while you’re still waiting.

God remains faithful.

Take some time today and thank Him for His goodness.

I think you’ll find He has been closer than you realized.

God is good.

And He deserves all the glory.

How have you seen God’s faithfulness in your life recently?

Every Christian should own one of these.

Follow if you know there’s more.

When Paul described the armor of God, he said:

“Take… the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”

(Ephesians 6:17)

The only offensive weapon mentioned in the armor is the Word of God.

Why?

Because the battles Christians fight are not primarily physical.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God…”

(2 Corinthians 10:4)

The enemy attacks with:

fear,
lies,
temptation,
deception,
accusation,
and unbelief.

And God gave us a weapon to fight back:

His Word.

This is exactly how Jesus responded when He was tempted by the devil.

Three times He answered:

“It is written…”

(Matthew 4:4, 7, 10)

The Word of God exposes lies.

It strengthens faith.

It renews your mind.

It reminds you what God said when circumstances are trying to tell you something different.

Most Christians don’t have a Bible problem.

They have a Bible intake problem.

Owning one won’t change your life.

Reading it will.

Believing it will.

Applying it will.

The Christian life isn’t won by being stronger than everyone else.

It’s won by knowing the truth and refusing to let go of it.

That’s why every Christian should own one of these.

And more importantly…

actually use it.

What’s a Scripture that has helped you through a difficult season?

Jesus didn’t blur the line.

We did.

Follow if you want to learn what the Bible actually says about God’s character.

In John 10:10, Jesus separated the works of the enemy from the works of God in the SAME verse.

“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy…”

Then:

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

One brings destruction.

The other brings life.

Jesus made the distinction very clear.

So why do so many Christians attribute to God the very things Jesus attributed to the enemy?

When I started studying the ministry of Jesus for myself, I noticed a pattern.

Jesus healed people.
Fed people.
Restored people.
Delivered people.
Helped people.

Acts 10:38 says:

“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth… who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.”

Notice the distinction.

Jesus was doing good.

The oppression came from the devil.

Then 1 John 3:8 says:

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

Jesus came to destroy those works.

Not partner with them.

Not create them.

Destroy them.

And James 1:17 says:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.”

Every good gift.

Not some.

Every.

Now does this mean Christians never face hardship?

Of course not.

We live in a fallen world.

There is persecution.
Spiritual warfare.
And we are called to crucify the flesh daily.

But hardship is not the same thing as God being the author of evil.

Jesus never walked up to suffering people and said:

“My Father put this on you.”

He healed them.

And He called Himself the GOOD Shepherd.

Good shepherds feed.
Protect.
Guide.
Restore.
Care for their sheep.

This is not about greed.

And it’s not about worshipping money.

Scripture warns against covetousness and idolatry.

(Colossians 3:5)

This is about understanding God’s goodness correctly.

Because a good Father provides.

A good Shepherd cares for His sheep.

And God’s blessing was never meant to stop with us.

It was meant to overflow into helping people, giving generously, supporting ministry, feeding families, and building His Kingdom.

The more I study Jesus…

the more clearly I see the goodness of God.

And His goodness produces:

life,
peace,
healing,
strength,
provision,
restoration,
and generosity toward others.

Go read John 10, Acts 10, 1 John 3, and James 1 for yourself.

Fear is one of the enemy’s favorite weapons.

Follow if you know there’s more.

One of the most repeated commands in the Bible is:

“Do not be afraid.”

Why?

Because fear is not harmless.

Fear keeps your attention on the problem instead of God’s promise.

It keeps you focused on what you see instead of what God said.

Fear says:

“What if it doesn’t work out?”

Faith says:

“What did God say?”

That’s why fear is such a serious issue.

Not because God is angry at fearful people.

But because fear and faith pull your focus in opposite directions.

The enemy wants you consumed with:
the diagnosis,
the bills,
the relationship problem,
the uncertainty,
the obstacle in front of you.

Because if he can keep your eyes on the problem…

he can keep you from trusting God.

Throughout Scripture, we see this pattern over and over.

God gives a promise.

Fear tries to talk people out of believing it.

Fear is one of the greatest tools the enemy uses to discourage, distract, and pull people away from walking by faith.

That’s why God continually tells His people:

“Do not fear.”

Not because the situation isn’t real.

But because He is greater.

If you’re battling fear right now…

go back to what God said.

Find His promises.
Meditate on them.
Speak them.
Stand on them.

Fear grows when you feed it.

Faith grows when you feed on the Word.

What’s a promise from Scripture that has helped you overcome fear?

Jesus literally separated the works of the enemy from the works of God in the SAME verse.

Follow if you want to learn what the Bible actually says about God’s character.

“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy…”

(John 10:10)

Jesus clearly tells us where destruction comes from.

Stealing.
Killing.
Destroying.

That’s the work of the enemy.

Then Jesus immediately contrasts Himself against it:

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

So why do so many Christians attribute to God…

the very things Jesus attributed to the thief?

Somewhere along the way, many believers started calling things like:
sickness,
disease,
lack,
poverty,
burnout,
and constant defeat…

“holy.”

Or somehow “God’s will.”

But when I actually started studying Jesus…

I saw something very different.

Jesus healed people.
Fed people.
Restored people.
Delivered people.
Helped people practically.

And He called Himself the GOOD Shepherd.

Good shepherds take care of their sheep.

They feed them.
Protect them.
Guide them.
Restore them.

This is not about greed.

And it’s not about worshipping money.

Scripture strongly warns against covetousness and idolatry.

(Colossians 3:5)

This is about understanding God’s goodness correctly.

Because abundance is not the same thing as greed.

A good Father provides.

And Kingdom provision was never meant to stop with us.

How are Christians supposed to:
help people,
give generously,
feed families,
support ministry,
and build the Kingdom…

while believing God wants His people barely surviving,
constantly defeated,
sick,
and unable to function?

Now do Christians face suffering?

Absolutely.

We live in a fallen world.
There is persecution.
Spiritual warfare.
And we are called to crucify the flesh daily.

But hardship is not the same thing as God being the author of evil.

Jesus never walked up to suffering people and said:
“My Father put this on you.”

He healed them.

The more I study Jesus…

the more clearly I see the goodness of God.

And His goodness produces:
life,
peace,
healing,
strength,
provision,
restoration,
and generosity toward others.

Go read John 10 for yourself.

Jesus made the contrast very clear.

One of the most important things in life…

is learning how to walk with God daily.

Follow for real-life faith and growing closer to God.

Not just knowing about Him.

Actually learning His voice.
Learning His ways.
Learning to trust Him in everyday life.

The more time you spend with God…

the more you start recognizing:
His wisdom,
His correction,
His peace,
and His leading.

God has been teaching me that spiritual growth doesn’t happen accidentally.

You grow by staying connected to Him.

Through prayer.
Through the Word.
Through daily obedience.

And over time…

your thinking changes.

Your priorities change.

Even the way you respond to life starts changing.

More peace.
More wisdom.
More love.
More discernment.

That’s the kind of growth I want in my life.

Not just information about God…

real relationship with Him.

If you’re seeking God right now, keep drawing near to Him.

He is faithful to lead those who seek Him.

Imagine how much wrong teaching it took…

to make people think the works of the devil are from God.

Follow if you know there’s more.

Somewhere along the way…

a lot of Christians started calling things like:

sickness
cancer
poverty
lack
burnout
defeat
and destruction…

“holy.”

Or somehow “God’s will.”

Meanwhile Jesus said:

“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy…”

(John 10:10)

There is an enemy.

And Scripture even calls Satan:

“the god of this world.”

(2 Corinthians 4:4)

Jesus clearly separated the works of destruction from the works of God.

Then He said:

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

That sounds very different from the picture many people were given of God.

When I started actually reading the Gospels for myself…

I noticed something:

Jesus healed people.
Restored people.
Delivered people.
Fed people.
Brought peace to people.

The things God brings are different.

Joy.
Peace.
Healing.
Provision.
Freedom.
Abundant life.

He revealed the Father.

And what He revealed was GOOD.

Now does that mean Christians never face hardship?

Of course not.

We live in a fallen world and there is real spiritual warfare.

But hardship is not the same thing as God being the author of evil.

God is not trying to destroy your life.

Jesus came to bring life to it.

The more clearly you see God’s goodness…

the easier it becomes to trust Him.

Go read John 10 for yourself.

Jesus made the difference very clear.

He IS the GOOD shepherd

This week was full 😂

Follow along for weekly updates 💯

We had Celebration Sunday at church.

Giving away toys, food, washer and dryers, and all kinds of things to people in the community.

Maile and I were helping run:
the lemon shake-up tent,
the hibachi chicken tent,
and the cotton candy tent.

A lot of work…

but seeing people blessed made it worth it.

Then somewhere in the middle of all that…

I crawled under a house at a jobsite and found a chipmunk 😂

Funny story, I thought it was a mouse but I showed Maile the video and turns out it was actually a chipmunk. 🤣

That made feel better about being under there

Finished up the condo remodel too.

And finally got my lawn mower fixed.

Real life.

Work.
Marriage.
Church.
Serving people.
Fixing stuff.
Trying to grow with God through all of it.

I think one thing God has been teaching me lately is this:

A meaningful life usually isn’t built in huge moments.

It’s built in faithfulness.

Showing up.
Serving people.
Taking care of responsibilities.
Walking with God daily.

That’s the kind of life I want to build.

God has been really good to us.

And I’m grateful for this season.

What’s something your week looked like lately?

Missing one day might not seem like a big deal

until you realize how much staying connected to God actually strengthens you.

Follow if you know there’s more.

A lot of people think:

“It’s just one day.”
“One prayer won’t matter.”
“One day without the Word is fine.”

And sure…

God still loves you.

But drifting usually happens slowly.

Not all at once.

The more time you spend with God…

the more it affects:
how you think
how you respond
how you handle pressure
how you walk through life

Peace doesn’t happen accidentally.

Strong faith doesn’t either.

You build those things daily.

In prayer.
In the Word.
In relationship with God.

And when life hits hard…

you realize how much you needed that strength.

😂

Jesus said:

“Abide in Me…”
(John 15:4)

Because staying connected to Him produces life.

Don’t lose your fire by slowly drifting away from the source.

Stay close to God.

Most people misunderstand the Gospel because they misunderstand God’s heart.

Follow if you want to learn what the Bible actually says about God.

A lot of people think Christianity is:

“Serve God or He’ll destroy you.”

But that’s not what Jesus revealed.

God is not trying to keep people FROM life.

He’s trying to bring people INTO it.

“I have set before you life and death… therefore choose life.”
(Deuteronomy 30:19)

God gave humanity choice.

Because real love requires it.

People can choose:
life with God
or separation from Him.

But Scripture is clear about God’s desire:

“He is not willing that any should perish…”
(2 Peter 3:9)

God is not looking for ways to destroy people.

He is trying to save them.

And salvation is much bigger than
“going to heaven someday.”

Jesus came to bring:

Peace.
Healing.
Freedom.
Restoration.
Deliverance.
Relationship with God.

Help for your life RIGHT NOW.

“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life…”
(John 10:10)

That’s the difference.

Destruction is not the heart of God.

Life is.

The more I looked at Jesus…

the more I realized how good God actually is.

Jesus didn’t just come to change your eternity.

He came to transform your life today.

Go read these Scriptures for yourself.

Don’t build your understanding of God from opinions.

Look at Jesus.
