The Empty Chair

The Empty Chair A space for those navigating life after loss. We share the quiet grief, the loud memories, and the everyday ache of losing a parent. Your grief is unique.

Because even when they’re gone, their seat in our hearts remains. No one grieves in exactly the same way. Your particular experience will be influenced by the type of relationship you had with your parent, the circumstances surrounding the death, your emotional support system and your cultural and religious background. As a result, you will grieve in your own way and in your own time. Don't try to

compare your experience with that of other people, or adopt assumptions about just how long your grief should last. Consider taking a "one-day-at-a-time" approach that allows you to grieve at your own pace.

Tomorrow is Christmas, and for a lot of us, there’s an extra chair that didn’t ask to be empty but showed up anyway. The gifts still get wrapped, the food still gets made, and the world keeps insisting on cheer, even when your heart is quietly counting who’s missing. This page exists for that space. For the love that didn’t disappear, just changed seats. If you’re carrying someone with you into tomorrow, you’re not doing it alone.

Like and follow my page. We all need that extra support.

“If you could sit on a bench in heaven for one hour, who would you spend it with?”

“Every ‘like’ here isn’t just a number—it’s another soul who’s faced an empty chair at the holiday table. As Thanksgiving draws near, we grow this space together—to 10,000 hearts—where love and loss sit side by side, and every memory still has a place.”

“When you operate at my scale, it takes a whole team of mini-me’s just to keep up. Excellence isn’t an accident. It’s a full-time operation.”

Every home has one — a chair that’s a little quieter now, a little too still.

It’s more than furniture. It’s a place where laughter used to land, where coffee cooled mid-conversation, where love still lingers.

This photol isn’t about loss — it’s about presence. Because some chairs never truly stay empty.

Today I’m celebrating my dad’s birthday. He may be gone, but I like to think he’s up in heaven, catching up with my mom—two old friends sharing stories and laughter like they used to. They may have gone their separate ways down here, but I know there’s still a bond between them that time and distance could never erase.
