Copycat Applebee’s Chicken Mac & Cheese!
My family loved this and it was cheap to feed 5 people.
I used 1 box of deluxe Mac N Cheese - white cheddar ($3), Tyson boneless chicken wings ($7) and made the sweet honey chili sauce to drizzle on top.
Ingredients for the sauce:
3/4 cup of honey
3 tbs soy sauce
1/4 brown sugar
1/4 pineapple juice
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbs vinegar
Black pepper, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic salt, paprika, chili powder (season to taste)
Low boil the sauce for about 3-4 minutes, then remove from heat to allow it to thicken. Make Mac n cheese and add in bacon bits, then pour into casserole dish. I added a little extra milk, butter, and shredded cheese to keep it from getting dry while baking. Toss chicken in sauce and layer on top of Macaroni. Bake on 400 for 15 minutes.
