These past few weeks have been a lot from political noise to loss local leaders. I've personally felt overwhelmed and bit hopeless at times.
I was recently asked to speak on a panel for an event called Transform your Hood that will serve as a community town hall in partnership with Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis & Transform 314.
At times its been hard to accept the assignment that I've been called as a public figure to be a voice of people like me. It's hard and heavy task. As my influence grows so does backlash & criticism, but someone has to be the one willing to take the heat.
I'm asking for your support to come out to the event, connect, and let your voice to be heard as well. Here are the details. Activate your power to vote! Participate in town-hall style discussion and an interactive exhibition, enjoy a DJ set inspired by civil liberties, and vote on drawings made for the Transform Your Hood campaign by students from Grand Center Arts Academy, Saint Louis University, Sumner High School, Vashon High School, and Washington University in St. Louis.
The winner will receive a cash prize and the opportunity for their drawing to be turned into a poster and distributed to encourage voting efforts around the 2024 presidential election. Volunteers will be available to help eligible individuals register to vote in Missouri and Illinois.
