To my fellow Sensory Pals & Allies 🔇
This post is for you..
If the storm has you feeling scattered, heavy, or numb, you are not alone. It’s okay to not be okay right now. Take the time you need to regulate, reset, and be still. Your nervous system deserves care, too.
This past Friday’s tornado left deep impacts across our communities in St. Louis. For those with sensory sensitivities, autism, ADHD, and other cognitive differences, the devastation can land even harder in the body, in routines, in our sense of safety.
I’m sharing a few visuals that may support grounding, body awareness, and emotional regulation during this time. These tools were made with love and intention for our neurodivergent community, but anyone can benefit from a moment to pause and breathe.
To allies: please remember that people with cognitive disabilities and differences are processing this, too. Offer grace. Create quiet space. Be gentle. Listen more than you speak.
