Yesterday, we were so happy to share that Sanaz Collins with Enterprise Bank & Trust agreed to join the editorial board for In Her Prime. Today we welcome another powerhouse woman to our inaugural editorial board, Julia Burke, Ph.D..

Dr. Julia Burke is a transformative leader whose career has shaped education, strengthened systems, and elevated opportunities for generations of students. With 35 years in public education, Dr. Burke has led with purpose across district administration, special education, and human resources. Most recently, she served as Associate Superintendent for Human Resources for the Hazelwood School District, where her leadership influenced everything from talent development to student-centered systems of support.

A tireless advocate for children—especially students with disabilities—Dr. Burke has driven meaningful change throughout her career. Today, Dr. Burke continues her mission through Educational Services by Burke, LLC, providing executive coaching, human resources and education consulting, and special education advocacy. She also serves as a consultant with the University of Missouri-Columbia, Board Chair for the Special Education Foundation, and a board member of the Special School District of St. Louis County

Her career is defined by leadership, service, and a deep commitment to systems that work for all students. Dr. Burke embodies what it means to be in her prime—leading with wisdom, impact, and unwavering dedication. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Julia Burke to In Her Prime!

Despite decades of gains in workforce participation and education, the path to corporate leadership remains uneven for women. After steady progress between 2015 and 2022, growth has nearly stalled, with the share of women in leadership increasing by just 0.1 percentage points over the past year, according to LinkedIn data.

Her career spans financial services, gaming, and retail, with leadership roles at Simmons Bank and Reliance Bank, and earlier work supporting nationally recognized brands like Ameristar and River City Casinos and Build-A-Bear Workshop.
