Mule Talk Podcast Cindy K Roberts hosts the award-winning podcast, Mule Talk & has worked with mules since 1985. Her grandfather was a muleskinner for the U.S. Army Cavalry.

(2nd Lt. Cavalry Wilton Willman) In August 2023, Meredith Hodges came on board with Mule Talk. Cindy K Roberts is the granddaughter of Lieutenant Wilton Wilman, a muleskinner and sharpshooter serving in the U.S. Army Cavalry Troop "A", 322nd Cavalry, receiving Honorable Discharge from the United States Army on March 21, 1928.

*Teach your child how to be around equines.
*When choosing an equine for your child, do not choose a donkey jack.
*Do not choose an equine that is an alpha figure in the herd or one with aggressive behavior.
*Choose a mule or donkey with a quiet disposition for your child.
*Encourage children to do tasks around the barn to learn more about their equines' behavior traits.
*Consider giving a homeless donkey, b***o, or mule a chance to be in your child's care.
*Donkeys tend to have fewer issues and tend to be more sedate rescue animals than mules.

The ideal qualities to look for in a mule.
What to look for in the ideal head, neck, and shoulders of the mule.
Both the mare and the jack contribute to the qualities desired in the mule.
Be selective in your breeding program to produce desirable mules.
Bone structure is important when selecting a mule for a job or performance.
The mule should have an overall balanced look to its body.
Pay attention to the hip, stifle, and gaskin, which should have a smooth, muscled look.
Mules and donkeys possess more "long" muscle than bulk muscle (as in the horse).
Pay attention to the legs of the mule, the hooves, the rib cage, joints, etc.
The most important trait of the mule is his disposition; this characteristic comes primarily from the mare.
