You could say Lighting McQueen day has been a thing for a while in our family.

From wearing out the dvd when he was little, to legit quoting the movie for the past 18 years. To see it back in theaters, well I guess you could say “I’m happier than a tornado in a trailer park”

Still trying to process this one. 💔

But Dolly left us a lesson in life, she was never just one thing. She built a life that was completely and unapologetically hers, in every way, and I think that’s why so many of us feel like we lost someone we knew.

As a Southern Missouri girl who also grew up with very little, her story has always meant a little something extra to me.

I hope I’m even half the woman she was. 🦋🤍

Don’t spend your whole life trying to become somebody who already exists. Become more of yourself.

I still can’t believe she’s gone.
💔🦋
Standing here in front of this butterfly at Dollywood just a few weeks ago feels a little different tonight. I truly believe she is hugging her husband’s neck right now and doesn’t want us to cry for her down here.

Tonight we read one of our books we got from Dolly Parton from her Imagination Library. Because Dolly didn’t just make music, she put books in the children’s hands for free. Her imagination library sends age-appropriate books to children from birth through age 5, and of all the things she gave the world I think getting books into children’s hands might be one of the things I’ll always treasure most.

These are just a few of my favorite quotes from Dolly, I loved her because she was spunky and sassy, and she came from nothing and tried to instill it in everyone that you are enough. No matter where you come from. And in honor of Dolly we’re making her cinnamon bread tomorrow because if there’s one thing I learned from Dolly, it’s that a little sweetness makes life better.
