Second update to S. Main Street homicide (CRN 2026-02218)
May 13th, 2026

As of this date, US Marshals continue the search for the individual accused of the May 5th shooting death of Gregory Johnson Jr. That suspect, Andrew White III (21 years old, Statesboro), is charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to approach or apprehend White yourself. Contact law enforcement immediately.

The identities of eight children killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, were released Sunday night. The suspect in the shooting, Shamar Elkins, is the father of seven of the children.
