📰 Outfielder Travis Honeyman Making His Mark in the Arizona Fall League 🗞️
After missing most of 2024 due to shoulder surgery, Travis Honeyman is finally getting the chance to show what he can do — and he’s not wasting it. The 24-year-old Cardinals prospect, drafted in the third round in 2023 out of Boston College, has brought energy and production to the Glendale Desert Dogs this fall, quickly earning a reputation as the team’s unofficial captain and hype man.
Honeyman’s path has been shaped by family and resilience. His brother Bobby, a former Mariners prospect, inspired his love for the game and continues to mentor him through the grind of pro baseball. After a lost first season rehabbing from shoulder surgery, Honeyman rebounded in 2025, batting .321 at Single-A Palm Beach before posting a .390 OBP at High-A Peoria.
Now in Arizona, he’s focused on proving there’s more pop in his bat than scouts initially believed — a claim he backed up with a 429-foot homer on Oct. 8. “I got pop,” Honeyman laughed. “Hopefully down here, and maybe next season, we’ll see more of it.”
The Cardinals’ system is loaded with outfield talent — from Joshua Baez to Chase Davis — but Honeyman’s energy, plate discipline, and leadership could make him one of the more intriguing players to watch heading into 2026.
Alongside Honeyman, the Cardinals have a notable group of Fall League representatives: catcher Graysen Tarlow, outfielder Miguel Ugueto, and pitchers Chen-Wei Lin, Tyler Bradt, D.J. Carpenter, Randel Clemente, and Darlin Saladin. Each is using the AFL as a chance to refine command, showcase velocity, or solidify a spot before Rule 5 eligibility.
