This is my first quilt top. I haven't sewed anything since home economics 40 years ago! It has a lot of mistakes but it's a learning experience. I want to quilt it myself on my machine for practice. I'm looking for suggestions on quilting it. I was thinking instead of 'in-the-ditch' just following the vertical seams about 1/4 to 1/2 inch in, if that makes sense. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions on how to sew all my squares together! I ended up doing rows, then sewing the rows together. This is how it turned out. For my first quilt I think it looks good! Constructive criticism is welcomed if you think I could have done something better or differently.

My first time ever splurging on expensive Tula Pink fabric and i’m in love 🥹 i’m making myself a throw size quilt with this beautiful fabric. I’m also trying out a quilt pattern for the first time🫠 i’ve only ever made a quilt with squares so this is different for me but i cut all the fabric and started today for a few hours! As a teacher off for fall break I’m excited to sew all day tomorrow 🥹😍

I'm a 2nd year teacher. This year, my students had to write a letter to Santa explaining WHY they wanted a certain item. Two of my students mentioned that they wanted a blanket for Christmas because their house was so cold. I almost cried when I read this! So I decided to make a quilt for them. Then I thought I didn't want to embarrass them or make everyone jealous. So I'm making 18 small quilts for my students. I will let each child choose what they want, but I will let my two who wanted blankets “choose first.”

I made this quilt for my grandmother, but my sisters said it was ugly that this pattern with chickens was very childish, and did not let me give it to her as a gift, I was disappointed but I ended up keeping it for myself, sad when they do not understand your work, but I will not give up and will make a big and beautiful one for my grandmother.
