Resourceful info and a post originally posted by Max Bishop. A particular saddle will not fit all mules/donkeys even if custom made. Thanks Max this is worth sharing: . I had a lady ask me about how to fit a Steve edwards saddle properly, I suggested a trash can about 3 to 4 ft high , and at least 2 foot wide . Place on edge of the curb and all the problems it caused will go away real soon .. glad i could help folks that is what i am here for .. now i know some folks like them , i also know some folks voted for Biden . Some folks just have different standards of quality. But i am sure if you have a narrow framed mule, do light trail rides , don’t rope or pony stock, don’t pack out on it ans your biggest concern is its light enough for you to lift then i am sure its great .. if you don’t want a saddle built to activate use and ride hard why bother asking me my opinion? If you want the BS answer it is you need his specific pad , specific breast collar , tight the back girt down first and tighter than the front to help stop all that damn rock in it .. ride with a little bit loose front cinch so you don’t gall your mule in the first hour of ride. Use his specific breeching to keep it off its ears and that should allow easy use on a flat trail for a short time in the open.. no problem…. If you decide to pull from the horn you will pull off the horn, so that horn is made to hold on when your scared not roping..
