Gilberto started his career in the US in New York in the hospitality industry, but he always dreamed of being in front of the camera.

In this conversation, Gilberto shares his passion and commitment to St. Louis, the Latino community and for making room for new leadership.

What does living Autentico mean to you, Gilberto Pinela?

"...Be your 150 percent self in every situation that you're in. When you walk into the room, let people know that you're there, but that you're there because you are being authentic to yourself. So that means that your confidence level is high. That means that not being cocky. Because that's a different story. But it means that you are present as your legit self..."

The COVID-19 pandemic flipped the education system on its head. Teachers had to find new ways to engage with students virtually. Students had to learn how to navigate chrome books, laptops, and other devices in order to complete their studies. Everything changed and a lot was uncovered such as the lack of resources in minority school districts. In this episode we hear from a young school board member working to change the educational landscape in her hometown, a professor with years of experience with a new outlook on education, and community members about the state of education.
