This week's rain brought us no improvement to the drought situation. Severe Drought conditions have expanded to cover essentially all of the Metro East, with Moderate Drought conditions in and around the STL Metro Area. Any burning should be postponed until drought conditions improve, which unfortunately won't be any time soon. The Climate Prediction Center's Precipitation Outlook keep our precipitation probability below normal through the month of October.

With the first day of Fall being on Monday, I wanted to take a look at the Seasonal Outlook maps from the Climate Prediction Center. It appears that the Saint Louis region will slightly favor an above normal probability for temperatures, with equal chances for precipitation. Unfortunately for snow lovers, that likely means we won't have a great possibility of seeing much Autumn snow.

The Autumnal (Fall) equinox, marking the first day of astronomical fall, will occur on Monday, September 22nd at 1:19 PM CDT. On this day, the sun will be directly over the equator, and it will be the last day that we have more daylight than night until the Vernal (Spring) equinox in March 2026.

09/20/2025

Highs will be in the mid 80s today through Monday, with 70s for Tuesday through at least the end of the week. We have entered into a more active weather pattern, with decent chances for showers and thunderstorms each day through next weekend. While there isn't any notable threats for severe weather, we are entering our second severe weather season so it isn't entirely out of the question. Enjoy the much needed rain and cooler temps, but stay weather aware!

09/15/2025

High temps will remain near 90 through at least Thursday. This weekend will bring highs near 80 and the chance for showers and thunderstorms.

09/12/2025

Not really much of anything going on weather-wise. Highs in the low 90s, lows in the mid 60s, with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms each day through at least Wednesday of next week. Long range outlooks keep us above normal temperatures for the next couple of weeks.
