The Tomorrow Society

Just heard the really sad news that Daniel "Rover" Singer has passed away. I talked with him on the podcast back in 2024, and he was such a cool and friendly guest with so many great stories. Daniel was a co-founder of the Reduced Shakespeare Company and worked at Imagineering for more than 12 years. Beyond all his great work on projects at Disney, he also helped found the Flower Street Players, an in-house theater group. There's too much to mention here, but I'll add the podcast link in the comments in case you'd like to give it a listen. It only scratches the surface of Daniel's life and talents.

I wrote a blog 10 years ago ranking all the attractions that have ever been in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. I've updated that article today, though I only had to add one attraction with TRON! I did go in and rewrite all the entries and changed some rankings based on how I feel now. The PeopleMover did better, and maybe that's just part of getting older? I'd love to hear what you think of this list!

Dan Heaton ranks all 17 Tomorrowland attractions at Walt Disney World in Florida looking at past and present rides and shows, including TRON.

In case you missed it on Tuesday, I released a new interview podcast! I really enjoyed chatting with Bob Rogers about his new book and a lot of cool attractions. I also have breaking news to report: there will be another episode in a few weeks with a returning former Imagineer!

It's here! I had a blast talking with Bob Rogers of BRC Imagination Arts about his new book "Deep Story: A Complete Guide to Creating Transformational Attractions". We chat about his work on attractions like The Magic of Disney Animation, the Bird and the Robot at World of Motion, and the Abraham Lincoln Museum. Bob had been on my guest wish list for a long time, so it was so cool to get the chance to chat with him. I also talk about how I'm looking at the podcast and its future at the end of this episode.

Bob Rogers of BRC Imagination Arts joins Dan Heaton on the Tomorrow Society Podcast to talk about his new book Deep Story, Disney, and more.

This took a while to put together, but here it is! I've ranked my top 20 attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. After last February's solo trip, I've filled in some gaps and gotten a lot of re-rides on other attractions. I feel pretty good about this list, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Dan Heaton ranks an updated list of his Top 20 favorite attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure currently at the parks.

I've been working to make the Tomorrow Society site easier to navigate. One way is through pages that are hubs for certain types of articles. The first one includes all my Attraction Tribute posts. You can check out my tributes to Horizons, World of Motion, Delta Dreamflight, Impressions de France, and a lot more. It's easy to find them from this page!

This page is the hub for all of Dan Heaton's tributes to past Walt Disney World attractions like Horizons, World of Motion, and Dreamflight.

Now that we've learned all the exciting D23 announcements, I've been thinking about the big questions that remain about a lot of them. I dive into a lot of that in my new article. I can't wait to learn more about Imagination, Spaceship Earth, Tomorrowland at Disneyland and a lot more.

Dan Heaton talks about the big questions Disney fans are asking after the big parks announcements at the D23 fan event last weekend.

So I did a thing. I didn't plan to record a podcast about this weekend's D23 news from Disney, but after Saturday night's excitement, I had a lot to say. I spent an hour talking about everything that I loved about both the presentation and the announcements. We've got Imagination, Tomorrowland at Disneyland, fixing the Yeti, and so much more. I hope you enjoy it!

Dan Heaton shares his favorite news from Disney's D23 Experiences showcase, including updates to Imagination and Disneyland's Tomorrowland.

Now that I've visited Cedar Point, it's time to update my top coasters! I've expanded the list to 15 (with three from Cedar Point), and it's starting to look a bit stronger! Still a lot of parks to visit, but it's getting there. I'd love to hear what you think of my list! It's been fun to put it all together.

Dan Heaton ranks his Top 15 roller coasters, which include rides from Cedar Point, Silver Dollar City, Kings Island, and Dollywood.
