Darren Vickers, after killing eight-year-old Jamie Lavis, befriended the boy's parents and even moved into their home to help them "find" the son he murdered.

After the boy's body was found two years after he was killed, Vickers was arrested and, to make things worse for the parents at trial, claimed he had slept with Jamie’s mother.
