TWO EVENTS TO GO

Only two NHRA Countdown to the Championship races left on the schedule. All four professional categories can come to Pomona to decide who the 2025 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series Champions are, especially with point systems having the winner earn a total of 150 points and the runner-up gaining 120 points can make this a close battle to the end. We also can't rule out the baby points that can be earned during qualifying and for the lowest ET of each
session.

This past weekend, it was Doug Kalitta
getting a victory over Steve Torrence in a close battle that was determined by .081 seconds. Steve Torrence had a .063 light to give him a .016 advantage ,
but Kalitta was able to drive past him
short after 60' and ran a 3.777 pass at 333.04 mph to win his fourth race of the season and his fifty-ninth of his career. Kalitta is now 141 points ahead of Justin Ashley and 159 ahead of his teammate Shawn Langdon.

In Funny Car, its Austin Prock leading the class with 112 points ahead of Matt Hagan and 131 ahead of his teammate Jack Beckman. Prock raced his way to victory over Ron Capps in the final round. Prock was sharp at both ends of the track with a .068 reaction and going A to B to run a 3.959 pass at 328.30 mph as Capps had problems when his chutes deployed early in the run.
The big impact to the points was Matt Hagan getting defeated in the first round by Paul Lee. This helped Prock gain a little more separation from Hagan in the points. The win in Texas was Prock ninth win of 2025 and his seventeenth of his career.

The Pro Stock category is looking more like a race to a championship between Dallas Glenn and Greg Anderson with only 60 points separating the two KB Titan Racing teammates. This past weekend, it was Dallas Glenn raising a Wally to the top end of the track after defeating Eilte Motorsports driver Aaron Stanfield in a battle between the giants in the category that was decided by only .007 seconds. Stanfield was first off the line with a .024 reaction time giving him a .010 advantage. Dallas was able to run him down and turn on his win light with a 6.605 pass to Stanfield's 6.622. This was Glenn's twentieth career win and his eighth of the season.

The Pro Stock Motorcycle category has been a war between Vance & Hines and Matt Smith Racing all season long. Currently, Richard Gadson is leading the points by 72 over teammate Gaige Herrera, 105 over Matt Smith and 186 over Rookie of the Year contender Brayden Davis. This past weekend, the Vance & Hines team was able to pick up another win with Richard Gadson. Gadson had to face Brayden Davis for the second time this season in a final round. Gadson got off to a great start
with his .011 light that give him a .020
advantage over Davis. Both riders would go straight down the track, but it was Gadson going through the traps first to pick up his fourth win of the year and of his career.
