The GFS is showing a high pressure building in the west. That means Hot temperatures and with a northerly flow will cause daily afternoon showers and storms from Minnesota down to the gulf coast. If this model is correct, the severe weather potential will be extremely low. A lot of people need a break from this severe weather pattern. The loss of life and property is something we never want to hear about.

Potentially a dangerous day ahead. Strong tornados, some could be violent, very large hail (3-4”+), and damaging winds in excessive of 80-90 mph. If you or if you know anybody that lives in northern Texas, Oklahoma, and southern Kansas, please make sure they have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Severe weather is forecasted for most of Louisiana, central and southern Mississippi, and western Alabama on Friday. That black hatched area represents where there could be some significant storms. All hazards are on the table. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are all possible. I’ll continue to monitor things as we get closer to Friday.
