❤️ Hi, I’m Ashley—the face behind PA Family Adventures.

If you’re new here, welcome! I thought it was time to introduce myself.

I’m a wife, a mom of four, and someone who believes that the best childhood memories are made together.

By day, I work for a local nonprofit supporting children and families through some of life’s hardest moments. That work has taught me something I’ll never forget: time together matters. The moments we share with the people we love are often the ones that stay with us forever.

That’s one of the reasons I started PA Family Adventures.

I wanted to create a place where families could discover fun things to do, hidden gems, and unforgettable experiences right here in Pennsylvania. I also have a huge passion for supporting local businesses, family-owned restaurants, farms, campgrounds, and attractions—the places that make our communities so special.

Whether it’s a weekend getaway, an ice cream stop after the park, a small-town festival, or a hike with a beautiful view, my hope is that this page inspires your family to get out, explore, and make memories together.

As a family of 6, we’re always chasing our next adventure, and I’m so grateful you’ve chosen to come along for the ride.

✈️🌳🍦 Here’s how we’d spend the perfect family day in Lock Haven, PA!

One of the things we love most about Central Pennsylvania is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have an amazing family adventure. Lock Haven is a perfect example.

Our ideal day would look something like this:

✈️ Start at the Piper Aviation Museum
Explore historic aircraft, hands-on exhibits, and the fascinating story of Piper Aircraft. It’s a fun stop for kids who love planes and a great way to learn about an important piece of local history.

🌳 Head to Riverview Park
Let the kids burn off some energy at one of the area’s best playgrounds while you enjoy beautiful views of the Susquehanna River.

🚶 Take a walk along the Levee Trail Riverwalk
This scenic paved trail follows the river and is perfect for families. It’s stroller-friendly, great for walking or running, and offers beautiful river views along the way.

🍦 End the day at The Ice Shack
Grab dinner, Italian ice, or one of their delicious soft-serve creations. The kids can play on the play structure while you relax, and every purchase helps support Bald Eagle Boys Camp. Don’t forget to check out the weekly featured flavors!

What we love about this day trip is that it combines history, outdoor fun, exercise, great food, and sweet treats—all in one affordable adventure.

As a family of 6, we’re always looking for destinations that offer something for everyone, and Lock Haven definitely delivers.

Whether you’re cheering on the Nittany Lions, attending your first White Out, or simply walking across campus on a fall afternoon, Beaver Stadium is more than a football stadium—it’s a place where generations of families have made memories together.

Even if you’re not a football fan, visiting Penn State on a game weekend is an experience every Pennsylvania family should have at least once.

As a family of 6, we’ve learned that it’s these moments our kids remember most. Not the expensive vacations or perfectly planned days—but the adventures that made them smile, laugh, explore, and wonder.
