Wes Nihil and Derek Fiddler
Derek, grandson of Tatanka Wanbli of the Elk Head Itázipčho Band of the Lakota Nation, carries forward a lineage tied deeply to the spirit of the Lakota Nation. There’s pride in that history and you can feel it when you enter Derek’s presence.
We just wrapped production this weekend on the music video for ‘Spirit Quest’ by Wes Nihil. We been working on this project for a little while. It’s more than just some content. For me personally I take my time crafting visuals so this history sits right forever. And while you’re supporting independent art be sure to watch Derek’s family film ‘Without Arrows’ a meaningful piece that documents his family very well. ( Apple TV or Amazon Prime )
One thing that I really appreciated about Derek was that even though I knew nothing about him, he enjoyed teaching me about his lineage and spiritual ways.
