Update:

PTL! Melody’s CT scan results came back amazing. The doctor said the medication is working wonderfully. The tumors have reduced in size and there is no spreading.

We truly cannot thank everyone enough for the prayers, love, and encouragement. This journey has changed our perspective on so much in life, and today we are feeling very grateful, hopeful, and blessed.

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News.

I think if we could see what God sees, we could not handle it; evil is everywhere.

Put on the armor of God and test the spirits. The Almighty in you is more powerful than anything and anyone.

When everything is going great and you’re able to smile, that is a gift.

When everything falls apart and you can still manage to smile, that is a blessing born from faith, strength, and resilience.

Sometimes the strongest smiles are the ones carried through the hardest storms.

Update ❤️

Melody had her second thoracentesis, and it went very well. They drained 1.2 liters of fluid, and she continues to do great on the medication with no issues.

Her knee is also doing fantastic, and physical therapy has been going very well.

We know these wonderful results are possible because of the blessings from the Almighty, the many prayers from family and friends, and the incredible care provided by the skilled medical teams at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York/New Jersey and the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion in Savannah, Georgia.

A heartfelt thank you as well to everyone at Georgia Quick Start. You helped make a very difficult journey more bearable. A person can have everything, yet without friends, still feel they have nothing.

Update on Melody: Her recovery from surgery continues to improve, and her mobility is coming back steadily. She has also started her cancer treatment, and we are hopeful for a strong response without side effects.

This journey has opened our eyes to something many families face—stress doesn’t just come from the diagnosis, but from the cost of care. Cancer patients need peace and focus to heal, yet many are burdened by financial uncertainty.

Melody is currently part of a clinical trial, which allows her to receive treatment at no cost. Outside of that, the FDA-approved medications for her rare cancer can exceed $20,000 per month. These are not cures, but they are essential in slowing the disease.

Even more difficult to understand is that insurance may still deny coverage for these treatments, despite their approval and necessity.

We are grateful for where we are today and hopeful for continued progress.

Update: Melody is doing very well with healing.
Each day she grows stronger and looks forward to regaining her mobility.

Today, we rest and reflect on the blessings we have already received,
and we pray for the blessings to come.
