🚨 BREAKING 🚨

Erick Hagler, 33, of Stillwater has been identified as a person of interest in a shooting on the Strip late Friday night, according to a statement from the Stillwater Police Department.

SPD said officers responded at approximately 11:55 p.m. Friday to the 300 block of South Washington Street for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found one victim with a gunshot wound, who was transported to Stillwater Medical Center, is in stable condition and is cooperating with detectives, according to the statement. The Stillwater Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to process the scene, and the investigation remains active.

Oklahoma State University issued a Cowboy Alert late Friday night reporting a weapon near the intersection of University Avenue and Washington Street in Stillwater and urging people to avoid the area as police investigated. The alert, sent through the university’s emergency notification system, instructed people to stay away from the area while officers responded and said additional updates would be sent as they became available.

OSU sent a second alert at 12:53 a.m. stating: “The subject was last seen heading southbound away from campus. There is currently no active threat, and campus is in an all-clear status. Please remain safety aware and monitor for any future alerts.”

In an updated statement Saturday, SPD said officers and detectives had gathered additional information and reviewed video surveillance related to the shooting and identified Hagler as a person of interest. The statement said an attached photo of Hagler was from a previous booking in February 2026.

No arrests had been announced as of Saturday morning. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Stillwater Police Department Tip Line at 405-533-TIPS (8477), according to the statement.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
