Top of the Brook Stony Brook Health Science Center Live Pictures/Rooftop Weather: http://wx.somassbu.org/pages/WX-HSC.

Standing 360 feet above the ground, this is the highest weather station and web cam on Long Island and surrounding areas. In addition to the amazing views, our web cam will capture time lapses of the sky...monitoring fog, convective development, and even snow coverage on the ground. Wind observations taken at this height will provide data for wind power and wind shear research, as well as better real-time forecasting of damaging wind events. We expect to be capturing the highest wind readings in the entire tri-state area. Temperature readings at this altitude will provide measurements of atmospheric stability. This station will also help ensure a safe operation of helicopters at this very busy hospital.

Whiteout conditions observed this afternoon with the passage of a heavy snow squall. Wind gusts reached 49 mph on the ground, and a whopping 70 mph on the roof of HSC (334 ft). This is the highest gust our HSC station has seen since 3/14/2017!

(Also, I realize this page has been dormant for a while but I will try to post more regularly again)
