Potter & Potter Auctions' Fall Coin Op, Advertising & Carnival Sale achieved $512,000 with a 91% sell-through rate at its October 15 auction in Chicago.

The top lot, a Rock-Ola World Series 1937 10-cent arcade game, nearly doubled its high estimate to realize $22,800. A Madame Zita fortune-telling arcade machine brought $20,400, and a papier-mache carnival head estimated at just $100-$200 soared to $9,600. The 698-lot sale drew strong bidding across coin-op machines, automatons, vintage advertising, and amusement devices.

The Bennett & Judie Weinstock Collection has achieved $2.26 million across two sales at Bonhams, with a Whieldon-type Dovecote leading the live auction at $96,700 and a rare double-walled teapot exceeding its estimate by more than 11 times at $77,500. The collection, drawn from the celebrated Philadelphia home of interior designers and AD100 honorees Bennett and Judie Weinstock, saw 89% of live lots sold and over 95% of online lots sold. Highlights spanned English ceramics, sporting art, Georgian furniture, and decorative arts assembled over a lifetime of discerning collecting.

The New Bedford Whaling Museum opens two new exhibitions in November, including a photography exhibition by Guggenheim award-winning Brad Temkin and eco-centric paper sculptures by May Babcock. November programming also includes National Author's Day on November 1, a First Fridays hip hop celebration on November 6, and a series of virtual and in-person author talks and workshops. Both exhibitions open November 20 and run through early 2027.

Morphy Auctions brings a three-day Toys, Sports and General Collectibles extravaganza to Denver, Pa., Nov. 10-12, with a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth card, a rare German Disney Mickey Mouse tin toy, and a 1954 Superman lunchbox among the standout lots.

The sale spans more than 725 lots across baseball memorabilia, vintage toys, cast iron, toy soldiers, trains, and decorative arts. A pair of Babe Ruth trading cards are each estimated at $30,000-$50,000, while the circa-1920s/1930s Disney tin litho Mickey the Musical Mouse toy, the only known variation to include Minnie Mouse, carries an estimate of $20,000-$30,000. A two-faced cast-iron devil still bank by A C Williams in near-mint condition with original red paint rounds out the highlights at $800-$2,000.

A whisper of blue-green flanked by two pink diamonds proved irresistible. This Bulgari platinum ring, centered on a 3.02-carat fancy intense blue-green pear-shaped diamond with all-natural color, led Doyle's Important Jewelry auction in New York on June 22 -- more than doubling its $500,000 high estimate. It arrived from a New Jersey collector and helped push the 187-lot sale past $4.1 million. A circa-1930 Raymond Yard ring with a 9-carat cushion sapphire wasn't far behind at $289,800.

A Korean Joseon Dynasty jar that was found holding a potted plant in a Bedford, New York living room soared to $344,400 at ACES Gallery's Fall Estates Auction on October 18, shattering its $10,000 high estimate. The 452-lot sale totaled $940,000, with additional standouts including a Kazuya Sakai abstract collage at $86,100 and a Paul Horiuchi washi paper collage at $67,650. Western art, Tiffany Studios lighting, and Korean decorative arts also posted strong results across the board.

Bonhams' Modern and Contemporary African Art sale in London set seven world records on October 21, 2026, led by Benedict Enwonwu's monumental gilt-bronze sculpture Anyanwu, which sold for £602,100.

Yusuf Adebayo Cameron Grillo's One Man Band achieved £461,300 and Uzo Egonu's Will Knowledge Safeguard Freedom I realized £198,900, both setting new world records. The sale totaled £3,347,050.

The Farnsworth Art Museum has acquired four monumental murals by N.C. Wyeth, gifted by Bank of America, depicting New England maritime trade and commerce.

Originally commissioned in the 1920s for the First National Bank of Boston, the paintings, The Phoenician Biremes (1923), The Elizabethan Galleons (1924), The Clippers (1924), and The Tramp Steamer (1924), will go on view in a special exhibition at the Farnsworth's Wyeth Center in June 2028. This marks the first time any murals by N.C. Wyeth have entered the Farnsworth's collection.
