🌸 A NEW CHAPTER AT WATSON’S FLORIST! 🌸

We’re excited to officially introduce ourselves as the new owners of Watson’s Florist!

We’re Robert and Jennifer Scott, and we’re incredibly excited for the opportunity to continue serving Sullivan and the surrounding communities through a business that has been a part of this community for many years.

Our goal is simple: honor what Watson’s has built while continuing to grow, improve, and become an even bigger part of the community we call home. ❤️

Watson’s will continue to be here for all of life’s special moments — birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, celebrations, sympathy arrangements, or simply letting someone know you’re thinking about them.

Over the coming months, you’ll also see some new things happening at Watson’s. We have lots of ideas, and we’re excited to share them with you as we grow!

Most importantly, Watson’s is staying local. We live here, work here, raise our family here, and we’re proud to invest in our community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Watson’s over the years, and thank you for giving our family the opportunity to be a small part of your family’s special moments.

We’re excited for what’s ahead. 🌷

💹 Market Recap
Wall Street indicators finished mixed on Wednesday as traders maintained a cautious stance ahead of the highly anticipated national wholesale inflation readout. While a minor late-session pullback in premium microchip entities kept the Nasdaq muted, strong defensive gains in consumer retail and medical shares helped lift blue chips, holding the broader indexes mostly stable.

⚾ Cardinals
The Cardinals suffered a brutal late-game collapse at Oracle Park yesterday afternoon, falling to the San Francisco Giants 7–6 to drop their quick road trip finale. St. Louis looked to be in total control after top catching prospect Leo Bernal broke a 1–1 tie with a spectacular three-run home run, guiding the Redbirds to a seemingly comfortable 6–1 cushion deep into the game. However, the bullpen imploded completely in the bottom of the eighth, surrendering six runs on a string of walks and hit batters to hand the Giants a stunning comeback victory. Despite the tough loss, the Cardinals enjoy a travel day off today as they head home to Missouri to prepare for a big home weekend stretch starting Friday night.

⚾ Royals
The Royals bats came alive to capture a satisfying 5–2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks last night at Kauffman Stadium, avoiding a series sweep. St. Louis native Michael Massey and Salvador Perez pacing the offensive production with clutch, multi-base hits to power the Kansas City attack. On the mound, the pitching staff held strong, limiting the dangerous Diamondbacks lineup to just two runs on nine hits. The Royals will enjoy a well-deserved day off today to rest up before catching a flight to Boston to open a weekend road series tomorrow

⚽ St. Louis CITY SC
St. Louis CITY SC fought through a gritty, dramatic battle at Providence Park last night, playing the Portland Timbers to a thrilling 2–2 draw to extend their historic unbeaten streak. Forward Rafael Navarro put on an absolute masterclass for the visiting squad, striking first in the opening minute before heading home a second spectacular goal in the 51st minute to map out a 2–1 advantage for CITY SC. Portland found a dramatic response with an equalizer in the 89th minute to force the tie. The single road point officially extends CITY SC’s jaw-dropping, league-record unbeaten streak to 14 consecutive matches. The red-hot squad returns to Missouri today to prepare for a massive home match at Energizer Park this Saturday night against Minnesota.

💹 Market Recap
Wall Street indices closed down on Tuesday as investors hit the brakes following a multi-day post-holiday tech sprint. Sinking industrial stocks and a sharp 4% drop in crude oil prices—reversing last week's energy spike—pulled blue chips down, leaving the major stock averages trading in the red as traders pull back to await fresh national inflation reports.
