STRONG EARTHQUAKE HITS MINDANAO

A strong earthquake struck parts of Mindanao at 7:37 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, with initial earthquake monitoring apps estimating the tremor at magnitude 7.8.

The quake’s epicenter was initially located near the Municipality of Glan in Sarangani Province at a depth of 75.9 kilometers. Strong shaking was felt in several areas across Mindanao, including Davao City, prompting evacuations and suspension of classes and government work in some areas.

Dear Friends:

Let us pray for our fellow Filipinos in Mindanao.

Dear Father, we bow before the greatness of Your power. The earth has shaken, and we, especially our beloved fellow Filipinos, are reminded that we are but dust and ashes.

Save us now, O Lord, especially those in the affected areas. Teach them to reach out to You, for You have always been calling them into Your embrace. Give every Filipino the blessed hope that is found in You, our Father. Forgive us for having strayed from You, and humble us to walk Your straight and narrow path.

Feed every hungry soul with food for the body and nourishment for the soul. May every Filipino have a place to rest in comfort tonight. Grant our country the peace it so desperately needs.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
