We hope you all are staying healthy and safe. We also assume that a lot of the freelancers, sol proprietors, independent contractors and small businesses are in the same situation during the COVID-19 lockdown, so we wanted to pass on some of the helpful information, and resources that we found:
1. CA Unemployment Insurance
Is now available for the Self-Employed through the DUA-Disaster Unemployment Assistance program. File this through your state, and as the owner of CypherBlu I was able to file for California Unemployment Insurance as an independent contractor/S Corp and hopefully I get it because we have been shut down!

2. SBA Paycheck Protection Program
This can be helpful for independent contractors, sole proprietors or small businesses if you need a loan. Some of the funds have potential to turn into grants if you provide documents. File for this online through your bank (you can't go directly through SBA - SBA loan applications are filled out online and most banks should have a link on their website by now).

3. LA City Small Business Emergency Microloan Program
We applied for this early and we're still waiting to hear back - we also applied for the SBA Paycheck loan - we are allowed to apply for both (different loans) but can't apply for two SBA loans at the same time.
