Decided to give the ol sled the weekend off in the stable and loaded up the ol faithful high speed dirt steed. Made the trip out to Western Nebraska. Small town nowhere just off i-80. Been coming out here wirh dirt scooters since the early 2000s. Tho the track and facilities have seen many changes the few things that have persevered through the times are the humble hard working friendly solid Grit ppl that put these high flying hot dusty events on . These individuals I write of are die hard family oriented friendly competition eat breathe n sleep anything dirt bike. Persevering thru time on my behalf besides the love of the sport motocross, is how you get there. Before you misunderstand, you must hear a small history of my childhood traveling near n far to races. As a young child I grew up with dirtbikes in the back of old 80s squarebodys with custom built v8s n open headers or pipes true n straight. Whether it be a 4 on the floor or 3on the tree. I didn't understand the difference to young to matter to me. That's why I choose this little black truck, it's always got me where I'm goin I don't give a F×ck. Riding with the window down hot summer day bike in the back there's no happiness I lack. For its the memories it brings back, the memories it's apart of. The adventure it brings. If not for Fun, if not for Pleasure, it's the Adventure. Later dude..... ps I'll try to do a creative log of my racing I did today.

Well folks, that's wrap!!! Tie the knot, pull up your pants, close the door and shut out the lights. This trip for Curts Moto Motif is Done!

As I pulled the trustee steel steed into the garage tonight I wondered what I might tell you all to round out the little story journey we've been. And as I'm literally walking into my humble abode as I write this I've decided to keep it real. This morning we were up earlier than planned, i think we were both ready to be home. We started our day in the dirty hole in the wall town named after George, right on the interstate in Colorado. It was shadowy and cold but we had an immediate mountain pass to Conquer. We whipped and spurred our steel ponies in the crisp soon to be winter air up the slope and thru the switchbacks. Where we came to the top of Berthoud pass. Then we held back the reins goin down the otherside to almost freeze into the park of winter. But we rolled on and found road construction in the valley where we could sit in the sun waiting to be released once again to rip thru the frigid air. We stopped in the iconic home town of the KILLDOZER for hot chocolate and water the mares. When they had their drinks we pushed forward to climb grades into the forest and go beyond where trees cant grow and clouds laugh at moto enthusiasts daily. We managed to stay ahead of moisture but not the wind. With narrow roads, strong gusts, and crazed motorists, we rode above the trees and began the descent down the eastern slope to finally head 'er Fer the barn. We blasted onward, not looking for rest, only fueling on the fly we were doing our best. Making it to the front range eastern plains of Northern Colorado. Where we could loosen our grip on the reins, give er her head and let er eat. Made good time with minimal brief showers before we made it to the home State line. The only thing on our minds at this point is getting passed the great Platte of North where we could open it up and let er buck. We changed our sheilds of eyes to better see the grand features of the sandhills and all creatures who preside. We pulled into our hometown, battered and worn, putting our steel steeds in their stables till the next time their to be rode out to war on the open highway.

Remember guys and gals the destination is only the goal. The achievement, is the journey of conquering the Adventure. Until next time, if not for the Fun, if not for the Pleasure, it's for the ADVENTURE!
Later dude.

Tonight on Curts Moto Motif-updates on repairs and alterations to the metric road sofa and a check-in at a summit that finally has an elevation posting. With an added bonus of challenging roads with inclimate weather being conquered by the newcomer.

Hello friends, family, and stalkers yours truly here. Sept. 10th 6:15AM we put our knuckles n knees in the breeze before the sun rose on the Fault of Moab. Before we climbed out of the gap it was a pleasant 64°. As we pushed thru open desert in the dark, the cool morning Temps dropped below what some would be willing to expose skin to the open air at a high rate of speed. Yours truly neglected the heavy hoody, and left town in a simple thin light stylish flannel that does nothing for cool weather. My partner, as she is smarter, she actually had a fair amount of layers on her upper half with a nice windproof outer shell. We made it just before the colorado line still dropping in and out of mountain shadows before I finally gave in for a warm heavy Hoodie, and helped my tail tugger into her chaps. We climbed mountains and descended into valleys all day, blasting thru the open rural country before finding heavy traffic. With patience and quick thinking we diverted our route to find the most scenic and less traveled roads. Boy did we find more than a few gems. But as seasoned moto enthusiasts know, a motorcycle trip in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in September, your bound to find Weather. We didn't twist grips in much sun today, ripping our route took us straight into more than a few wet, cold situations. Overall, we covered almost 420 miles of mountain riding in cool weather, going over more than 7 summits today, dealing with traffic, road construction and inclimate weather. The newcomer handled these challenges with a positive attitude and solid grit. She's come a long ways from last years open plains rides. Now for the road sofa, thought we had er carburetor issues whooped, but turns out there's probly another gremlin rearing it's ugly head once in awhile. But we have it figured out how to force her down the road and she only caused a hiccup twice today. Other than that it performed flawless. Remember, Vacation is easy, Adventure is a JOURNEY... If not for the Fun, if not for the Pleasure, it's for the ADVENTURE!! Later dude

If your keeping up with Curts Moto Motif you'd remember the reliable metric cruiser hadn't been doing so well holding up to its reputation. This morning we were late by 45 minutes to get into Arches National Park WITHOUT a reservation. Yours truly decided to take advantage of the cool morning air (what little there was) to perform the dreaded task of actual mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Removing the parts disconnectig hoses and electrical connections is easy. Remembering how it all goes back together and how it's routed has always been this impatient guys cryptonite. Surprisingly everything was clean and functioned properly. We did however find a seal that may be the culprit. Tho not torn, tattered or weathered it appeared as tho it just hadnt been seated correctly. To our surprise once Curt put everything back together while standing on his head, holding his breathe and swearing in unknown languages, the bike fired right up and sounds great. We decided to get a drink, cool off and set our helmets in the AC before we take it for an actual test ride. We've received helpful advice and encouragement from family, friends, strangers and other like minded moto enthusiasts on social media. Would like tell you all it's much appreciated. If not for the Fun, if not for the pleasure, it's for the Adventure! Later dude.

On this check,,in of Curts Moto Motif- The reliable bike is turning out to be not so reliable. In other news, the harley davidson softail is performing well, besides being underpowered, poor fuel economy and not as comfortable as the metric bike. But we made it to Moab Utah. It's HOT it's Busy its EXPENSIVE but damn is it PRETTY. As I've always said "If not for the Fun, if not for the Pleasure, but for the ADVENTURE!" Be sure to keep track of my check-ins to see what more adversities will be conquered! Later dude
