Part of the work I'm putting in to improve my late night mixes is organizing all of my rap music by decade!
It has been very rewarding to google "when did ?? by ?? release".
Now I can recognize when a rap song was released simply by it's production.
It's also made me mentally go through the last 3 decades of my life and how I identify with this music. Just super fun all around :)

Now that we’re about to begin August I have some DJ reflections to share:
I now have a great feel for what I can play and what I shouldn’t play based off crowd reaction. That was a GIANT question mark at the beginning of the summer.
I totally underestimated the amount of time & effort I would be putting in to organizing my music library BUT…
The work I’m doing right now to download and tag my music will set me up for the next 10 summers to come (God willing!)
My body finally adjusted to the heat and the hours last week lol
Choosing sobriety has forced me to try new ways to keep things fun which is why you see me spinning a flowstar often
See you all this week in the tree house every afternoon as well as Friday & Saturday nights for late nights! I'm putting a lot of focus on improving my mixes for late nights this week
